This inspiring Gandhi quote is a phrase I try to live by. Yesterday I was thinking about it when the chorus of a hymn by Charles Wesley came into my heart and mind:
"Lift up your heart!
Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!"
("Rejoice the Lord is King")
This blog is my way of lifting my voice and I hope it is lifting your hearts. I want to view and hear more positive and inspiring words in my days. The world can definitely fill it with garbage, but I choose to fill it with beauty.
What can you do to "lift up your heart...and your voice" to make your world a place to "rejoice"?
Lead a Hand
by Edward Everett Hale
I am only one, but I am one;
I can't do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, that I ought to do;
What I ought to do, by the grace of God
I WILL DO!
All of these words combined remind me of the song we practiced in choir, "One by One." Not sure the correlation, but I am thinking about it nonetheless. I had never heard it before this past Sunday, and it touched my heart as do the words you've shared today. Beautiful.
