"A little leaven..."

Galatians 5:9 - "A little leaven* leaventh the whole lump."

Matthew 13:33 - "...The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."

*leaven

  1. To add a rising agent.
  2. An element that lightens or enlivens.

Can we add some "leaven" into our lives and homes that will help the "whole lump" to rise to new spiritual levels?
  • a kind word, thought, or action
  • patience & compassion
  • scripture study
  • prayer
  • service
  • family home evening
  • temple attendance
  • spiritual talks
  • good media choices
  • wholesome recreation
As women, it is often our role to set the tone/mood in our homes and with our families.  Are we gradually adding "a little leaven" at a time or we forcing heaps upon them and ourselves?  Do we keep up our little nurturing efforts until "the whole [is] leavened"?

Isaiah 28:10 - "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little;..."

“Don't you quit. You keep walking, you keep trying, there is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon. Some come late. Some don't come until heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come. It will be alright in the end. Trust God and believe in Good Things to Come.”
