Thessalonians 5:6 - "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober."
Life-changing truths are before our eyes and at our fingertips, but sometimes we sleepwalk on the path of discipleship"
(Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "O How Great the Plan of Our God", October 2016).
Alma 5:7 - "Behold, [the Lord] changed their hearts, yea, he awakened them out of a deep sleep, and they awoke unto God."
What are we filling our time and minds with that keep us from experiencing the "total amazement" that God has planned for us?
Your question about what are we sleeping through is something I try to check myself on often. I am sure that I go far too long taking something for granted before I realize it, but I do try to avoid it. It seems like to be comfortable is to be ungrateful, and I just don't want that. Maybe that can explain some of my challenges. Food for thought.
