A different kind of gratitude journal

As I mentioned in my last post, I have recently finished a great book by Fawn Weaver entitled, "The Argument Free Marriage".  In the book she shares that she keeps a gratitude journal about her husband, Keith.  She keeps little notes on her phone that highlight the little things Keith does for her that she is thankful for each day.  I thought this was a great idea, so I have been keeping one for my spouse.  It is amazing to me all the little things that he does each day that I think wouldn't really go noticed if I weren't being conscientious about it.  Here are some things that I have noticed and that I am grateful for:

  • He asks me several times throughout the day, "How are you doing?"
  • He works long, long hours every day. (I knew this already, and it's not that he works long hours that I am grateful, but that he does it for our family).
  • He remembered that it was laundry day and without letting me know, he carried our dirty laundry baskets downstairs for me.
  • He doesn't complain about whatever I fix for dinner.  On my bad fibromyalgia days things can get interesting.  He's so easy to please when it comes to food.  I am so thankful.

Anyways, I can go on and on.  This journal has been a real eye opener to me.  I challenge you all to try it out, even if it is for just one week.
